Step 7Wyndham and La Quinta Hotels Status Match
When we originally ran the train that we are about to explain below, we applied, used and started with the American Express Platinum Card, so that is what we are going to use for the purpose of this post. One of the perks of having the American Express Platinum Card is two fold when it comes to hotel tier upgrades. One, you can enroll and automatically get upgraded to Hilton Honors Gold Status and second you can enroll and also get upgraded to Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite Status.
This match used to be one of the most important matches since this is the match you needed to start the journey to get your free 4 night vacation to Atlantis in Nassau Bahamas. Be sure you use this match wisely as you need to complete 10 night stays within 90 days in order to keep this status if you wish to keep it. However, keeping the status is not needed (unless you as an individual need it), we only needed this status match previously to get us to Caesar’s Diamond.
Unfortunately, as of February 1st, 2025, Caesar's closed the loophole on this free vacation. You can no longer match to Caesar's Diamond earned via credit card or just a plain old status match. However, if you already have Wyndham Diamond status earned from hotel stays, you can still status match to Caesars Diamond which keeps this free Atlantis vacation in play.
To match your Hilton Honors Gold (or Diamond) to Wyndham Rewards Diamond, head on over to Wyndham’s Status Match page and fill out the information on their page to receive a match to Wyndham’s Corresponding Diamond Reward Level Status based your Hilton Honors Gold or Diamond.
